Bean burger

 

What do you need?

For two persons:
  • 240 g brown beans (can)
  • ½ onion, chopped
  • 150 g corn
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tsp smoked paprika powder
  • 60 g oatmeal
  • freshly ground pepper and salt

    Tomato Salsa:
  • 1 tomato
  • juice of ½ lime
  • 1 tsp garlic pepper

  • topping: of your choice, for example avocado, lettuce, tomato, red onion, pickle
  • optional: burger buns
  • also needed: food processor

Preparation

  1. Preheat the oven to 180°C.
  2. Place the brown beans together with the onion, corn, egg and paprika powder in a food processor. Grind briefly to a firm but coarse puree.
  3. Stir the oatmeal and bean mixture together and season with salt and pepper.
  4. Use your hands to make 4 large or 6 small patties from the bean mixture and place them on a baking tray lined with baking paper. Place in the oven for 25 minutes. Turn over in between.
  5. For the tomato salsa, cut the tomato into small pieces and mix with the lime juice and herbs.
