Training according to your cycles knows when you are strongest

Dear wife,

Your body isn't a robot. You don't have to perform or push yourself the same every week.
Your body lives in cycles and the way you move should also breathe along with them.

During one part of your cycle, you're strong, focused, and full of energy. During the other, you feel a greater need for rest, introspection, or slowing down. And that's not weakness. It's wisdom.

When you learn to move according to your cycle, something special happens. You'll not only train more effectively, but you'll also prevent overuse, injuries, and hormonal imbalances. You build in one phase and recover in the next. You work with your body instead of against it.

Here's what exercise can look like per phase of your cycle:

Menstruation, rest and recovery

During your period, your energy levels are often lower. There's no need to force anything. Make time for rest, gentle stretching, quiet walks, or simply doing nothing. Your body is working hard to recover. Give it the chance.

Follicular phase, energy increases

As estrogen increases, so does your motivation. This is a great time to pick up new workouts or challenge yourself a bit more. Think strength training, cardio, or interval training. Your body is rebuilding and recovering quickly.

Ovulation, train at your peak

In this phase, you're physically at your strongest. You can train intensively: strength training, sprints, HIIT, or a challenging group class. Your coordination, focus, and recovery are at their peak. This is the perfect time for progression.

Luteal phase, slowing down and deepening

After ovulation, your energy slowly turns inward. Progesterone rises, and your body craves stability. Exercise more gently: think of Pilates, walking, light strength training, or yin yoga. This prevents overexertion and helps with mood swings.
