What do you need?
For one person:
- 150 g steak
- 30 g mushrooms, sliced
- 25 g garlic butter (or 25 g butter and 1 to 2 cloves of garlic, finely chopped)
- Salt and pepper
- Optional: fresh parsley for garnish
Preparation
- If you don't have garlic butter, first make garlic butter by mixing 25 grams of butter with 1 to 2 finely chopped garlic cloves.
- Cut the mushrooms into slices.
- Remove the steak from the refrigerator about 30 minutes before cooking to allow it to come to room temperature. Season both sides with salt and pepper.
- Heat a skillet over medium-high heat and add half of the garlic butter. Once the butter is melted and hot, add the steak to the pan. Cook the steak for about 3 to 4 minutes on each side for medium-rare, or longer if you prefer a different doneness. Remove the steak from the pan, cover loosely with aluminum foil, and let rest for 5 minutes.
- Add the remaining garlic butter to the same pan. Add the sliced mushrooms and cook for about 5 to 7 minutes, or until golden brown and tender. Stir regularly and season with a pinch of salt and pepper.
