A good basis for a protein-rich meal.
What do you need?
For four people:
- 20 g butter
- 20 g olive oil
- 2 onions
- 2 cloves of garlic
- 500 g lean minced beef or vegetarian minced meat
- 1 kilo of good ripe tomatoes
- handful of fresh basil
- 50 g tomato puree
- salt, pepper and herbs to taste
- optional: extra vegetables
Preparation
- Heat the butter and olive oil in a large pan. Add the onion and garlic and fry briefly over low heat.
- Add the minced meat and fry until loose.
- Add the tomatoes and basil, increase the heat slightly and let everything simmer. Stir well until all the tomatoes soften. While stirring, gently press the tomatoes with a spoon to break them up.
- Add the tomato puree and stir through. Let it simmer gently. Add salt and pepper to taste.
Optional: Supplement the basic tomato minced sauce with fried vegetables, such as carrots, zucchini, peppers, etc.
Tip: Serve with your favorite pasta.
