Tomato-minced sauce

A good basis for a protein-rich meal.

What do you need?

For four people:

  • 20 g butter
  • 20 g olive oil
  • 2 onions
  • 2 cloves of garlic
  • 500 g lean minced beef or vegetarian minced meat
  • 1 kilo of good ripe tomatoes
  • handful of fresh basil
  • 50 g tomato puree
  • salt, pepper and herbs to taste
  • optional: extra vegetables

  1. Heat the butter and olive oil in a large pan. Add the onion and garlic and fry briefly over low heat.
  2. Add the minced meat and fry until loose.
  3. Add the tomatoes and basil, increase the heat slightly and let everything simmer. Stir well until all the tomatoes soften. While stirring, gently press the tomatoes with a spoon to break them up.
  4. Add the tomato puree and stir through. Let it simmer gently. Add salt and pepper to taste.

Optional: Supplement the basic tomato minced sauce with fried vegetables, such as carrots, zucchini, peppers, etc.

Tip: Serve with your favorite pasta.
