Protein bars, a healthy snack?
I started Killerbody five years ago when I was still working as a DJ. During my late-night refueling stops, I noticed there were no protein bars at the gas station. There was simply nothing. Not much later, Barebells bars came out, and that's when I knew I also had to create something with Killerbody.
My goal was simple: to develop a protein bar that was delicious, low in sugar, and high in protein. Since my target audience is mainly women, I consciously chose a smaller bar. Most bars in the Netherlands were large and quickly contained an extra fifty calories. For many women, that's just too much. That's why I launched a 40-gram bar.
But the most important thing to me was the taste. It had to be a bar you could truly enjoy. Not a cardboard-like protein bite, but a bar that tastes like a chocolate bar. And I succeeded. Our Killerbody protein bar contains only 1.4 grams of sugar, which is exceptionally low compared to other brands. Of course, there are providers that are even lower, but that often comes at the expense of taste. And let's be honest: we women don't want to eat gross things.
With thirteen grams of protein per bar, it supports your muscles and helps with recovery, and because the calories remain low, it also fits perfectly into a diet. For me, it's mainly the combination of responsible and delicious. A bar that satisfies you, but also one you simply crave.
Protein bars have become the ideal snack for me: they give you energy, fit into a healthy lifestyle, and feel like snacking without guilt. Exactly what I missed five years ago when I was at that gas station.
